How contracts work in BoothBook

Every booking made through BoothBook automatically generates its own contract - you never have to draft or send one manually. As soon as a booking is created (whether the client books themselves through your online booking flow, or you create it manually in the admin), the system pulls your saved contract template and personalises it with that booking's specific details.

What gets filled in automatically

The contract template uses variables that pull data straight from the booking, so each contract is unique to that client and event without you touching a thing. Typical fields include things like:

  • Client name and contact details

  • Event date, start/end time, and venue/address

  • Package/service booked and any add-ons

  • Total price, deposit amount, and balance due

  • Payment schedule/due dates

Contract template settings

Open your contract from Profile icon > Settings > Contracts, then click the cog at the top right.

  • Auto Create assigns this contract to every new job automatically.

  • Require both parties to sign means the customer has to sign the contract before they can make any payments or submit any more forms.

Do something when a contract is signed

Automations can start from contract events. When you set up an automation in Automations, the trigger list has a Contract group with these triggers: A contract is created, A contract is viewed, A contract is signed, A contract is updated and A contract is deleted.

Pick A contract is signed to run your actions as soon as a customer signs.

Check who signed and when

Every contract shows its status on the booking, for example Created, Viewed or Signed. When a contract is signed, the app keeps an audit log with the signer's IP address, location and status, plus a record of when it was viewed and signed.

  1. Open the booking and go to the Files tab.

  2. Click the eye icon on the contract.

  3. Expand the audit at the top of the signed contract to see the full log.
