Upsells let customers add extras to their order before they accept the proposal, things like a guest book, extra hours, props or a second backdrop. The customer ticks the ones they want and the total updates.

Upsells are set up in two places: on the product, where you give it an upsell price, and on the proposal, where the Upsells element shows them.

Step 1: give the product an upsell price

  1. Go to your products.

  2. Open the product you want to offer as an extra.

  3. Add an upsell price.

  4. Save the product.

Repeat this for every product you want to offer. The upsell price is the price the customer pays when they add that product from a proposal, so you can offer an extra at a different price from its normal one if you want to.

Products are grouped into categories. Putting your extras into a category makes them easy to show together on a proposal, for example an “Add-ons” category or a “Props and extras” category.

Step 2: add the Upsells element to the proposal

  1. Open the proposal or template in the builder.

  2. Click the plus icon in the side menu to open the elements.

  3. Drag Upsells into the column where you want it.

  4. Choose the product category the upsells should come from.

  5. Save, then publish if the proposal is live.

The element then shows every product in that category that has an upsell price.

Where to put it

Put the upsells close to the quote, after the customer has seen the price and before the Accept button. That’s when people are deciding what they want. Upsells at the very bottom of a long page are easy to miss.

Adding the element to your template means every proposal created from that template already has it.

What the customer sees

The customer sees each extra with its name and upsell price, ticks the ones they want, and the total updates before they accept. The extras they choose are added to the booking along with the quote option they picked.

Common questions

Why isn’t a product showing in my upsells? Check that the product has an upsell price and that it’s in the category you chose on the Upsells element.

Can I show upsells from more than one category? Add a second Upsells element and point it at the other category.

Are upsells the same as quote options? No. Quote options are complete packages, and the customer picks one. Upsells are individual extras the customer can add on top of whichever option they pick.
