Proposals have a group of elements that pull in your own data: Quotes, Upsells, Accept, Staff, Services and Products. These are what make a proposal more than a nice-looking page. This article covers what each one shows, where its data comes from and where it works best.
You’ll find them in the builder under the Proposal group when you click the plus icon to add an element.
Quotes
The Quotes element shows the quote from the lead: line items, totals and tax. If the lead has more than one quote, each one shows as a tab, so the customer can compare options and pick one.
The quote is live. If you change the quote on the lead, the proposal updates the next time the customer opens it.
Every proposal needs one Quotes element. Put it high enough on the page that a customer reading on a phone doesn’t have to scroll through everything to find the price.
Upsells
The Upsells element shows optional extras the customer can add before accepting. You choose a product category, and the element shows every product in that category that has an upsell price. The customer ticks what they want and the total updates.
You set the upsell price on each product. Put the Upsells element just after the quote and before Accept.
Accept
The Accept element is how the customer says yes. When they click it, the proposal is marked as accepted, the lead becomes a booking and the customer moves on to your after-accept actions, such as a contract or payment.
Every proposal needs it. Add it after the quote, and again at the end of the page so nobody has to scroll back up to book. You can also set any Button element’s link to Accept proposal if you want an accept button in your hero section.
Staff
The Staff element shows the team members assigned to the job. It’s a good way to introduce the people who’ll be at the event, especially for weddings, where couples like to know who’s coming.
Services
The Services element shows your services. Use it to explain what you offer, for example a photo booth, a 360 booth and an audio guest book, without typing the descriptions out by hand in every template.
Products
The Products element shows your products, such as props, backdrops and print upgrades. It’s useful for showing customers what’s available, while Upsells is for letting them add things to their order.
A layout that works
A simple order that suits most proposals:
An introduction and what’s included
Quotes
Upsells
Accept
Reviews, photos and an FAQ
Accept again at the end
Every template in the BoothBook template library already follows a version of this, so starting from one is the quickest way to get it right.
